GENEVA: The IMF is supporting the action which is being organised by the United Steelworkers of America together with the International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and General Workers' Unions, ICEM.
IMF General Secretary Marcello Malentacchi is sending letters to all affiliated unions representing Continental workers, asking them to pressure their management to get the dispute resolved. 1,450 workers have been on strike for more than nine months in their struggle against the company's unfair labour practices.
