During the meeting union representatives from Japan, Thailand, Australia, South Africa and the UK were briefed by the Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation Workers' Association (TMPCWA) on its dispute with Toyota management. The meeting also discussed potential joint actions that will be taken if the company fails to meet the union's demands.

The following day the TMPCWA, supported by and together with representatives of the IMF met with Toyota management and repeated its claims for reinstatement. The company stated it will reconsider its position and will respond before the end of March to inform the TMPCWA of its position.
