Numsa's new leadership

28 August, 2000The Numsa congress has elected Silumko Nondwangu as the union's new general secretary.

SOUTH AFRICA: At its recent congress, the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) elected three new national leaders. The position of general secretary has been filled by Silumko Nondwangu. Angie Moeng was elected as new second vice-president, and Bheki Magagula as new deputy general secretary. Moeng is the first woman to be elected at national leadership level in Numsa.
The position of president was retained by Mtutuzeli Tom.
