19 March, 2001The International Metalworkers' Federation is holding a joint IMF World and European Works Council meeting for ABB.
GLOBAL: On March 28 and 29, 2001, trade union representatives from around the world will meet in Mannheim, Germany, for the first combined IMF world meeting for ABB with a meeting of the existing ABB European Works Council.
With the company in the process of planning still another, imminent restructuring project, top management will report to the joint meeting on the future plans for the ABB Group and discuss these with the representatives of the ABB workforce.
A document, entitled "Analysis of the Organisational Reorientation of the ABB Group", has been prepared for the conference. It contains information on the economic development of the company, its organisational development and strategic orientation for the 21st century, the organisational reorientation of the Group, plus an evaluation of the impact of the new organisation on the company and its workforce. The publication is available for downloading in English, German and Spanish on the IMF website at www.imfmetal.org under publications.
