CHILE: The education officer at the IMF regional office in Santiago de Chile, Hugo Valdez, has resigned from his position. His has been working for the IMF since 1990, first in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the last two years in Santiago.
The IMF general secretary Marcello Malentacchi says that he sincerely regrets this unexpected decision.
For the time being Roberto Pereira and Celeste Dantas will share the activities that Hugo Valdez has been responsible for at the regional office.
