Deal accepted in Norway

24 May, 2000The tentative agreement for the private sector has been balloted.

NORWAY: The agreement of May 9, 2000, between the LO national trade union center and the employers' organisation, which resulted after a four-day strike in the Norwegian private industry, has been accepted with a vast majority (78.6%) of the votes in favour. Less than 20% were opposed to the agreement.
The IMF's affiliate, Fellesforbundet, wishes to thank everybody for all the support it received during the strike.
