The International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) has issued its annual call for compilation of all trade union violations occurring country-by-country in 2008. The confederation of national labour centres annually publishes a Survey of Violations of Trade Union Rights, and ICEM affiliates and other trade unions are encouraged to work through their national centres in order to submit information.
The query is a comprehensive two-page questionnaire, covering respective legislation on trade unions and a reporting format for noting violations of trade union rights.
ICEM General Secretary Manfred Warda
“The ITUC’s annual survey is a valuable resource that is often overlooked in importance,” said ICEM General Secretary Manfred Warda. “We encourage trade unions throughout the world to respond to this call.” Contact a national labour centre in your country for more information, or e-mail the ITUC’s the Labour Rights Department at [email protected] to see how you can contribute.
