The Fédération des travailleurs de l’Energie, des Mines et Eau et Assimiliés (FESYNEME) held its first Congress in Benin, West Africa, on 2 September 2006.
Delegates from each of its five member-unions, all from the energy sector, were present at this first Congress, including from Syntra-Sonacop (Syndicat des travailleurs de la société nationale de commercialisation des produits pétroliers), the ICEM’s affiliate in Benin. FESYNEME is, in turn, an affiliate of Benin’s national centre CSA.
The Congress chose Syntra-Sonacop’s General Secretary Dieudonné Lokossou as General Secretary for FESYNEME for the next four years.
