9 October, 2014In the presence of the CEO, Tom Johnstone the SKF world trade union committee unanimously adopted a resolution on precarious work during their annual meeting in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Within SKF precarious work is something that the World Union Committee (WUC) monitors and ensures to follow-up on regular basis in order to take action and reduce unnecessary use of precarious work wherever it might occur in the company.
Therefore, on 7 October the SKF WUC undertakes to join the global union fight against the spread of precarious work and demands:
- Legislation that protects workers and their rights from being undermined
- Collective agreements that ban the use of precarious work or put defined limits on it
- Respect for and enforcement of labour rights – for all workers
