BHP is a world-leading company in the minerals, oil and gas sectors, claiming to "to gather people and resources together to build a better world." But according to their workers around the world, they have a long way to go to achieve their objective.
IndustriALL’s BHP global network has launched a campaign to strengthen union action and to call on BHP, the world’s biggest mining company by market capitalization, to end its bad corporate behaviour at the expense of workers.
IndustriALL calls on BHP to undertake meaningful dialogue with unions and to take a less hostile stance toward labour. BHP is the only major mining company that has yet to establish a global dialogue with IndustriALL.
The company must also uphold its commitments to respect human rights, including ensuring worker safety and health, at all of its assets, and take responsibility at the global level for how its workers are treated locally.
