US Machinists strike at Honeywell

25 octubre, 2011Members of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAM) began strike action on 10 October at a Honeywell nuclear parts manufacturing facility in Kansas City, Missouri. The 850 members of IAM Lodge 778 begin their third week today on picket lines at a US government-owned site following a 79% contract rejection on 9 October.

Korean metalworkers organize Renault Samsung Motors

23 agosto, 20112000 production workers and 500 white collar and maintenance workers in the factory in Busan in Korea belonging to Renault Samsung Motors decide to join IMF affiliate Korean Metal Workers' Union. The company totals 5650 employees, and has a production capacity of 300,000 vehicles per year.
